A beautiful and rare vintage Georg Jensen open squared sterling silver brooch by
Arno Malinowski . It features a deer resting in front of a squirrel in foliage.The rear of
the brooch is signed "GJ STERLING DENMARK 318 " . It has a rollover clasp
and pin closure on the rear. It measures approximately 3.7 x 3.7 cm and is in very good condition.
Weight is 16.1 grams. It is estimated to date from the 1940's.
George Jensen was a renowned silversmith and the Georg Jensen brand has come
to represent excellent quality craftsmanship and design. Arno Malinowski was a successful
designer who worked with the Georg Jensen Company from 1936 to 1944 and again
from 1949 to 1965. He often featured detailed designs of animals
in his work. This brooch is a lovely example of his work.
