Rare large Georg Jensen vintage modernist sterling silver brooch #395, designed by Ole Kortzau. The rear of the brooch is signed "925 S DENMARK GEORG JENSEN 395". It is also marked GJL (Georg Jensen Ltd) and has British silver import marks for London 1989. It has a silver rollover clasp and pin closure on the rear. It measures approximately 6.4 x 5.7 cm .Weight is 42 grams. It is in very good condition with small signs of wear commensurate with age. George Jensen was a renowned silversmith and the Georg Jensen brand has come to represent excellent quality craftsmanship and design. Ole Kortzau was one of the most renowned designers who worked with the Georg Jensen Company. His designs have a clean, modernist, sculptural feel. This brooch is a lovely example of his work.
