Bent Gabrielsen Pedersen

Bent Gabrielsen Pedersen (born in 1928) studied at the Danish College of Jewellery and Silversmithing which produced all the major artists in  Denmark. He was one of the first graduates from the college in 1953.
After he left college he was hired by  Hans Hansen where he took over the jewellery design department from Karl Gustav in 1953. He designed smooth silver "boomerang" type bracelets and earrings and "atomic" jewellery with enamel for Hans Hansen in the fifties.

His variation on the circle form of the the fifties was a necklace of connected links hung with a pendant that took inspiration from Thor's hammer. The stunning necklace he designed for Georg Jensen in 1953 changed the natural form of sycamore seeds into a symmetrical piece of identical links.

​ He was the winner of the Gold Medal at the Triennale in Milan . After this in 1962 he produced his cuff bracelet "fingers" which simulated interlaced silver fingers gripping the wrist. He also designed for Georg Jensen and won the Lunning prize in 1964.leaHis work was exhibited in New York, Paris,and London in  the sixties and this established his name world wide.

 After leaving the Hans Hansen company in 1969 Gabrielsen set up his own firm named "Gabrielsen's Guldsmedie". The business was kept small with him and his wife as the only employees. A large part of their jewellery production was sold in Japan. He dropped Pedersen from his signature and has been known as Bent Gabrielsen in later years.
